Kevin M. Brown was born in a New Jersey suburb of New York City and grew up in West Chester, Pennsylvania near Philadelphia. From an early age, he was drawn to history and the way everyday people lived their lives in bygone eras.
That fascination drove him to explore the tangible ways people today can learn from, connect with, and be inspired by the past. From genealogical research as a teenager and explorations of the local history of his home town as a college student to the archaeology, archives, and museum work in his early professional life, he came to appreciate the power of relatability in the stories of history's forgotten people. It is this appreciation that motivates his historical authorship.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from West Chester University as well as a Master of Arts in American History with a certification in Museum Studies from the University of Delaware. He has worked in museums, archives, and in the field as an archaeologist.
Today, he works in corporate communications as a content and messaging specialist with a particular expertise in corporate archive management and heritage communications, applying historical narratives to support the brand, reputation, and purpose of the organization.
A life-changing move in early 2020 brought Kevin to London where he now lives with his wife and two daughters. But no matter how far he travels or where he ends up, a piece of his heart will always be in West Chester, the town that nurtured his passion for history.
